I own and operate a Trophy Bass tackle shop in Massachusetts and I've been seriously fishing for BIG BASS for the last 20+ years. Recently I started traveling to Lake Baccarac in Mexico. This lake produces more ten pound Bass than any lake in the world. I've had several reproductions done by different taxidermists in the last few years and I've been relatively pleased with all of them. Recently, I saw some of Travis Jones work on taxidermy.net and was extremely impressed, so I decided that the next time I had a fish done, I'd give Travis a try. On my November 2008 trip to Baccarac, I caught a very unique looking 11 pound 14 ounce Bass on a Saltwater Chug-Bug. This fish lacked the distictive black bars typically found on Large mouth Bass but the Golden color on this fish was just beautiful and it was captured very well in the photo. I sent a picture along with the dimensions to Travis. Several months later, I received an e-mail with some photo's of my completed fish. I was thrilled at just how much it resembled the picture I'd sent. When I actually unpacked this fish, I was totally blown away by the coloration and detail that went into it. As I already stated, I have many "nice" looking fish hanging on the walls of my tackle shop. I have only ONE fish that now proudly hangs on my living room wall and that's the fish done by Mr. Travis Jones. Absolutely Beautiful work Travis!!

You really brought it to life! This was a reproduction mount and I like it even more than the skin mount you did last year because it will look great for many more years to come. When I landed a 57 lb striper in the Chesapeake Bay last December, I knew I had a trophy of a lifetime. The problem was, I wasn't sure what to do with it. I had always heard that skin mounts on fish that size were difficult and not likely to stand the test of time. My other option was a fish replica. As a full time taxidermist and a leader in the taxidermy educational community it is so refreshing when a real talent comes along! I have judged every major competitive event in the taxidermy industry and not one blue ribbon makes a taxidermist great!
